SEO Traffic Tricks

Hey, everybody! Terry Wygal here and today we’re going to go with Lesson 1. Remember, we have to start at the beginning. I’m going to share with you a few little insights you may not be thinking about. Don’t take everything for granted. Today’s lesson is all about back, back, backlinks….kind of like football. (We’ve got Thursday coming up- Thanksgiving.) So, we’re going to be talking about backlinks. It’s all about the backlinks.

You’re going to hear some things that you’re going to go: Well, that’s obvious, Terry. But you know what? When you start to see how it all comes together, as we get in deeper and deeper into the lesson, I guarantee you that you’re going to remember back to this first lesson and go: It’s all about the backlinks! This is what it does to get on the first page to Google…more importantly, how to dominate Google.

It’s all about the backlinks. Let’s get to the first lesson, shall we? See you then.

Hello, everybody. We’ve got this working now. Today I’m going to talk to you about something very simple but yet it’s very, very imperative to our backlinks strategy. One of the most powerful ways to get a backlink to your main sight, whatever your main site is. Let’s say for me it’s www.Terrywygal.com that’s my main website where I do a lot of different posting. I do several promotions on there as well. At that site I want to get as many backlinks coming to it as possible.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to go to www.WordPress.com . You create an account there. (You can actually create several accounts there.) What you want to do on this account at WordPress, even if you have a blog sitting on your own panel, on your own website, whatever the case may be, you still want to create a blog in www.WordPress.com , especially if you’re starting out.

If you’re starting out and you’re new to the business and your website doesn’t have any history, you want to try to get some credibility into the fact that you have an established blog. Well, www.WordPress.com (which is where you can create a free blog) has been around for a long, long time and the key strategy to that is that they already have great page rank in the Internet industry.

So it’s all about getting links back from pages that have what they call ‘high page ranks’ and when you do that, it comes back to you. www.WordPress.com gives you all of that and what you do from there is create or post right to the blog with your articles. Keep that in mind.

We’re going to be talking about articles at a later date, but you create and write your articles and then post them on your free WordPress blog with links back to your main sales page. Okay? So you always want to go back to your main sales page.

Right now I’m showing you inside the blog that I’ve created here. It was for a joint venture that we did. As you can see, I have selected a series of main tags or keywords for each of the posts that I wanted to do. As a matter of fact, this was one for Andy Proper on Virtual Birddog. That’s one of the examples I’ve shown you where when I was doing the JV and concentrating on that blog, we were dominating the first page of that. You can do the same exact thing. We created the keywords or the tags for each of the posts, as well.

Now, a couple of things inside your blogs that you want to know and be sure that you do on your own blogs: One is go inside over here. This is in the Admin Panel. Go inside to your Settings and then go inside to your Permalinks.

See where it says Permalinks right there? You want to make sure that you go to a Custom structure. This will allow you to show an actual name for each post. You want to make certain that each one of your posts inside your blogs has an actual name on it. The other thing that we’ve done on here…and I’ll show you an example of that in a minute….another thing we’ve done in here is installed Jeff Johnson’s blog. It’s an SEO blog or a Search Engine Optimized blog.

This is what I call my money site. It’s all about making money, right? So my money site is designed to do all the selling. Everything else is designed to drive traffic to it.

So my free www.Wordpress.com blog drives traffic to my www.Terrywygal.com blog. I used to use just a simple WordPress plug-in, but now what I’m using is Jeff Johnson’s SEO plug-in. You can see a link down there. It’s free. (By the way, he gives some fantastic training on blogs…much more than I’m going to give here.) Just know this; it is a powerful, powerful strategy to use blogs in your system and to drive links back to your money site.

Whichever site you’re in, one other strategy that you want to be sure that you do is you want to go here where it says Manage and Links.

You want to make certain that you have links back to your websites, whatever websites you happen to be using, so that you can get more backlinks. You can see here some of the links I’ve got on this webpage deal with Yanik Silver’s Maverick Insider Newsletter. Okay?

I’m sending everything to www.Yaniksilvermavericks.com . Why is that? First of all, I’m in Yanik’s Mastermind group, and I’m part of an affiliate for him. I believe so much in his product, that I want to make sure everybody knows about that. It’s fantastic for whatever business that you’re in, and if you go to www.Yaniksilvermavericks.com , you can find out all about that. Again, that’s my main site, and I’m driving traffic back to it on my blogs.

So remember the links…you go to Manage Links and set up new links to whatever blogs that you create in the future. We’re going to be talking about a few more, but remember…backlinks, backlinks, backlinks. It’s all about your backlinks and getting traffic driven to you and using the right keywords, which we’ll talk about in a future strategy as well.

So here’s your action points: Set up a blog on www.WordPress.com . If you don’t have a website yet, then that’s your starting point. Start it up on www.WordPress.com . If you have a website, you’re going to install all of the articles you’re going to write, and we’ll talk about that in a future show. Write those articles and then you send those links to your main blog or your main website- your money site.

Always remember that your main site is your money site. Money, money, money. Make sure your links go to your money site. Regardless of what site you have right now, if you don’t have one, create a blog. If you have one, create a blog. Drive your links to your main site.

If you don’t have a main site, then all you have to do (real simple) is use www.WordPress.com until you create your own site.
